27 Jul

Man we had a pretty good weekend I think. We got the big couch out on Saturday night; okay so I ‘supervised’ and Jeff and the neighbor boy got the couch out. It was nice to see that out because it makes it one less thing to do and a little dent has been done in what we need to move. So I feel a bit better in that aspect. Had a good afternoon with my dad the other day and that was nice. We don’t get to spend much time with just me, him, and O and it’s nice when we do. Helped me relax a bit on the whole school thing with O.

Speaking of that, I’m still trying to figure out is what to do with O this fall for school. The new school where he would have gone to is booked up until DECEMBER for their screening and it doesn’t guarantee him a spot. But he’ll need it for Kinder next year so I’m like what ever and just schedule it. Then I call where he went to school last year (and will be this year) and the lady was like “if you move outta this town there is nothing we can do and blah blah. I figured that, but I broke down in tears because I’m so frustrated with this whole thing. Since Pre-k isn’t required, there wouldn’t be much they could do. I don’t want to have him go a year (last year) and miss this year and then go next year. I think that would confuse him a lot. Plus he LOVES school, and think he’ll do even better this year since he knows what school is really like and everything now. It’s just a mess and frustrates me to no end.

Ah! Dinner time, gotta love breakfast for dinner. Yummo bacon and eggs, can’t wait lol.

Anyone seen summer?

22 Jul

It has been an incredibly crazy summer here, both personally and weather wise. Now anyone that’s ever lived in north central Illinois, knows that it gets HOT here from the end of June to the end of August just about. Well aparently not this year. It has been so rainy and cold this month alone, I just can’t believe that I’ve been in jeans and a hooded sweat shirt for most of the month when we’ve normally been drenched in sweat by this time. We did have a week or two last month I think where it was an extreme heat advisory, but it’s been so cold and dreary lately I don’t even want to get out of bed! Poor Owen can’t do anything outside because of this too so we’ve been trying to tame that extra energy somehow, we’ve done lots of coloring and video watching lol.

Also, I’m trying to be a better blogger. I was doing good and then WHAM ran into a brick wall it seems. Well in a bout a week we’re moving…you couldn’t tell since I have one measly box packed up, another one started and barely anything else done…..could be because we have like 4 boxes and that’s it….yeah this is going to be fun. Thankfully all of Owen’s toys can go in his huge football toybox he has, yeah we cleaned that out and found out he had TWO bags (those heft no rip ones) of busted up and broken toys in his room alone. I’m like seriously NO more toys….yeah that lasted until we went to walmart and bought him this t-ball set (seriously was a waste of $10 as it doesn’t even go together right, he lost interest in waiting for me to try and figure it all out. We’re going to get him Better Batter Baseball soon though so he’ll be excited).

Anyway, like I was saying, we’re moving and I’m rather excited about it. We’re moving in with his sister and we’ve lived with her before and know all how it is to live with other people and everything. This will be good though, adjusting will be needed but good. We can save a very good amount of money and it would be until I get out of school (another 1.5 yrs), the schools are better than here, and Owen will have other kids to play with. So I just have to get packed/moved/settled in and I’ll be fine, until then, I’ll be a stressful mess like I am now lol.

So plese forgive me for not being around, once I get things settled, I have lots of good stuff coming for Creatively Yours so I hope you’ll stick around to see where we go from here =]

Have a great day,

GOJANE Giveaway

7 Jul

I don’t know about you, but I love clothes, accessories, and shoes. I am always trying to find the cutest stuff out there, but with the Economy how it is, it’s important to shop on a budget. So when I came across GOJANE, I was really blown away at their prices. Their designers are a great mix of style and taste that help give the store that flow of great items. Also, they have such great customer service. With most of shopping being done online today, customer service has seen a decline, I think, due to how impersonal that the internet can be. Yet that wasn’t the case with the GOJANE customer service staff.

As I said before, their site carries some amazing items. They have dresses for homecoming, prom, or even a night out. They also have really beautiful casual clothes, accessories and shoes. Every Friday evening they get new items so make sure to check back than to see what else they have. I already bookmarked quite a few things from their site and figured I’d share some of my top picks.

First, are a pair of flip flops that I’m in love with. These True Love Thong Sandals are cute. My friend has a pair of them and I love the design on the sandal. Also, I’m not much of a flip flop girl, but I was surprised at how comfy they are to wear. They didn’t rub my toes or anything like other flip flops I’ve tried on. Also, for $5 dollars how could you pass them up? Next, how cute are these American Flag sunglasses? I thought the flag design on the lenses was really unique and fun. Finally, I know here it’s getting hotter each day, and this Embroidered Tube Dress would be really nice to have on those days out at the park or hanging by the pool.

I chose to review their Satin trim halter top in black. I was in love with it the moment it got there. The feel of the fabric was so soft and it fit perfectly (and my measuring skills are well not that great ha!). Also, the hubby loved it as well. I was worried because some times halter tops can be unflattering, not this one. I felt that it helped hide a little of the weight I’ve put on and helped make me feel better about myself.
