Halloween Lunch Box Notes Giveaway

6 Oct
 *CLOSED*

Who doesn’t love to find little notes tucked into their lunches as children? My mom never did this, but I secretly envied my friends who did. I want to do this for Owen before he gets to big and it embarrasses him (lol). So of course I just had to highlight these cute Halloween Lunch Box Notes from riricreations at Etsy and one lucky reader a chance to win a set just in time for Halloween. But first, I want to share some other homemade Halloween treats you might like that she has to offer.

First are these adorable Halloween Boo Blocks, which were featured on Laura Young’s blog as well as Treasury West They are adorable and great for those that have little hands that like to touch EVERY decoration you put out (we have one of those here though he knows better lol). These adorable blocks are handmade and can be arranged any way you’d like them to. These blocks are cut to a size of 2 1/2” and sanded down by Rita’s husband, and the wood used is the poplar wood. These are also hand decorated using items from various sources listed in the description of these blocks.  I will be picking up a set soon for us as just looking them over my little man can’t stop talking about the ‘big spider’, cat, and his newest obsession, bat. I don’t have a lot of Halloween decorations anymore sadly, but these would be a great addition to what little we do have.

Next for those out there with beautiful princesses there are some beautiful Personalized Princess Fairy Wand with Bling  What better accessory for your princess costume than these fairy wands that were featured in Etsy’s Halloween Gift Guide? Not only are they great for Halloween, but being made of sturdy material, these will be able to see plenty of play dates and dress up days, plus with the star being made of foam, you won’t have to worry about those wacks that may come when she tries out her new spell. Are you having a Princess themed Party? These beautiful wands are also available in sets just for your party needs, and what cute party favors these would be!

As you can see I love Rita’s store, and I think you will too. I love it because I just stink and being crafty with my hands. I’ve always admired anyone that has that kind of creativity, mine is just limited to what I can write or make on this computer. Now before I tell you about the giveaway, I wanted to share the story behind how these lunch box notes started. I find it rather cute and I just had to share with you what she has on her Etsy page about this:

How this got started: All of my lunch box notes were inspired by my friend Al, who left his wife 400 little lunch notes during their 10 years of marriage, before his untimely death…I’m sure he’d want me to keep on spreading love and encouragement, just like he did, so I do!

So to enter the giveaway, just visit Rita’s store and tell me your favorite item that wasn’t listed above. For extra entries please leave a seperate comment for all that you fulfill:

Win a Pair of Halloween Pumpkin Earrings

6 Oct
This was suppose to start yesterday but I haven’t been feeling very good yesterday and also started my fall term of classes so before I knew it the day was over. But lets get the ball rolling I’m excited for this. If you don’t know, this week I’m going to be highlighting some of my favorite Halloween & fall items. Some will be giveaways, some reviews, and others will just be things I’ve seen around, I bought myself, or just what I see around online.

I can’t wait I just love this time of year. So lets get started with this super cute giveaway shall we?

I found myself on Etsy again and this time I was wandering around Cindy (Foreverfun)‘s etsy shop, and she has some really cute Halloween items. The first thing I noticed was this fun Halloween Ghost Wreath. I love the little ghost on it, and the cobwebs and skull on it help get the feeling of Halloween across as well as play off of the ‘Ghost Motel’ sign attached to it. I can see this fitting into any of your Halloween needs, be it on your front door or apart of going all out with your Halloween decorations.

Now this next one takes me back a bit because my grandma use to love creating the different villiage scenes in her big bay window. So when I ran across Cindy’s Halloween Haunted Church and Halloween Haunted House I had to smile since I know she would’ve loved them. I love how bold, bright, and funky the colors of these houses are. They definitely play off of what Halloween is about, having fun. For some spooky houses, these are definitely very fun looking. I love the spiders that are on the front of the haunted house and the bats dangling off the top, and has to be my favorite I think.

Finally these Halloween Ghost Magnets are my son’s personal favorite. He’s all about ghosts, monsters, blood, and anything that scares me half to death. Even if this is the cutest ghost I’ve seen since Casper, Owen thinks it scares me and it’s cute watching him try to be my protector. I know that these are going to be something I’ll have to pick up soon just so he can have the ghost as I don’t see them staying on our fridge long anyhow. I think that black fence sign is adorable myself.

Now I want to show you what Cindy has generously offered up for this contest! One lucky Creatively Yours reader will win this way to cute pair of Halloween Pumpkin Earrings and as usual entering couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is visit Cindy’s Store and tell me what else is your favorite item, and please do not use anything listed in this post, I’d like to know you were actually in the store. Want more entries than please see below:

Beautiful Disaster Clothing Giveaway!

3 Oct
 *CLOSED*

When I came across Beautiful Disaster I was in love. The products had this crazy, funky feeling to it and they just LOOKED fun. Now for those that don’t know about Beautiful Disaster Clothing, I thought I’d first share a little information with you that includes some quotes from her site.

Christie states on her website that Beautiful Disaster was created as “an alternative to all the other lines I see when I shop (and boy do I shop!!) and to combat their timid attempts to shock.”

One of their most popular shirts has a very catchy and popular quote on it, it simply states “Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History” and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this quote in the last couple years, but the thing about it is it’s true. A lot of the woman that have gotten into the history books have all had a little bit of spunk to them, and that’s always a good thing to have in you, at least I think. We no longer live in the age where we need to be afraid to tell people what we really think, feel, or want, and at times not really caring if it offends anyone because it’s each woman’s opinion and they will never 100% be the same. Today’s society is all about showing off your attitude and even naughty side, it’s about feeling comfortable in your skin and not caring if someone thinks you’re a little weird because chances are, they may be as well. That is why I love this clothing line, it has spunk and attitude and isn’t sorry for it. This is best proven by a line Christie has on her site about her clothing line: “It was time to cross the line and so I thought let’s create a line that blends the craziness of our “reality” (Botox needles and girls that kiss girls) with some attitude.” Which I think is exactly what these shirts, hats and hoodies show off.

Now some of you may think these shirts look familiar and well if you’re a reality tv junkie like myself you may have seen them on a show or two such as Rock of Love Bus w/Bret Michaels and Daisy of Love. Christie has some really neat videos up in
her media section showing this.

What really brought me into her store was the Too Many Fantasies t-shirt (posted to the left) Besides the bold imagery used, the overall design of this shirt is definitely an eye catcher and sure to get people talking. All of the shirts offered are 100% cotton and offered in sizes s-xl.

Also, the Military Cap is another favorite of mine. I’ve really been into these style of hats lately as well. This cap is 80% acrylic and 20% wool in an Army color with one size fits all. It features the Beautiful Disaster logo on top and would be a great compliment to various styles and great for those days where you just don’t want to do anything to your hair.

Also if those styles are not your type they offer trucker hats that feature the stronger graphic and the Beautiful Disaster logo. They are 47% cotton, 25% polyester, 28% nylon and the Stronger Trucker hat is available in a destroyed Charcoal color and the Beautiful Disaster logo Trucker hat is available in black.

Now to the fun part, the giveaway. Christie has generously offered to give one lucky winner a their choice of either a hat, tee, or tank. To enter all you have to do is visit Beautiful Disaster’s blog and follow them…yup that simple. For extra entries please see below:

MomDot — Great Blogging Community

3 Oct

So I don’t know about you but I am a bit of a message board/community addict and when I was ready to ge this blog going and going right, I finally followed the link I had been given so long ago:  MomDot. I was a little intimidated at first because the forum is very active and offers a lot of areas to discuss and talk about.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting blogging, or you’ve been actively blogging for years, you’ll all fit right in at MomDot. I love that because sometimes being a newbie blogger among all the season vets can be kind of scary. No one likes to feel like the nerdy new kid on the block but with MomDot you don’t feel that way. It almost feels like home the moment you sign into your account. From what I’ve seen the people are really nice and friendly. They are willing to help if you need it and great for some laughs and good conversation. Who couldn’t love that right?

Another thing I really like is their blog section. I can see why they are one of the most popular blog communities online. Like I said, they have a wide variety of sections on their board to help with any blog need you may have. For example there are the  Blogs, Ask MomDot, Plea Board, General Board, Contests, Info, Introductions, and Announcements. It’s also highly addicting with all their different sections, I’ve been there a couple days and I can already get lost for hours on there. It starts with one click and before you know it an hour has past and your kid is wondering if you’re ever going to make dinner…lol. Okay so a little dramatic, but you can easily get lost in there from all the helpful and fun posts.

Also, once you’ve been posting actively for 4 weeks, you can apply for the V.I.P section. The V.I.P section is a  co-opp PR to blogger pitching area which helps you so you can make pitches for giveaways or even reviews. How neat is that? Another neat aspect of MomDot is that it’s not only available to mom bloggers. Dad bloggers can, and are, encouraged to join as well.

So if you’re looking for a great site to help you get your blog out there or even meet new bloggers to have a great conversation with, then what are you waiting for, join MomDot now!

MAH Creation Review and Giveaway

So when I came across M.A.H Creations I was blown away by how cute all these items were. Not only that but the site was really easy to navigate and find what I needed/wanted to find in a quick amount of time.

Helping a friend get a job….with social media

1 Oct

I was looking around on my blog list and saw this interesting post by MomStart about her friend trying to get a job at a bank and that they were using social networks to decide who they should hire. It really makes you think with how far we’ve come in technology. I mean everything has a way to tweet, blog, facebook, or myspace it it seems. More and more companies are getting websites and social network accounts to help promote their products. Then it makes you think about being a blogger and what you do. I know that I don’t do it for the free stuff. I’ve done quite a few reviews where I didn’t get anything from them. I don’t place those reviews and the low end of my priority, nor do I do their posts any different or with any unneeded negativity than I would if I received a product from them. With the companies doing this more and more now it helps to show people that companies do care bout the people that use their products. I know I’ve had times where I’ve had to hold off on a review or contest for a bit and the company has fully understood and really compasionate about it, where as they could’ve been real jerks about it you know? So just one of those well you know that makes you think moments. Now please visit MomStart’s post and vote for her friend!
