Bloggers Give 45 Days of Christmas.

12 Nov

Starting November 11th Bloggers Give will be collecting donations for a toy drive with the MOMS Club of Woodinville WA for the Maltby Food Bank. MOMS Club of Woodinville is going to be collecting new unwrapped toys and baking cookies. Instead of a cookie exchange they will be filling tins to donate to the food bank. The cookies will be given to the elderly in our community. The toys will be given to children and families in our community that will not be able to afford toys this year for Christmas. The plan is to have the children of these MOMS hand out the tins at the food bank and give the toys to the food bank. Teaching children to give instead of receiving is a huge lesson at the Holiday Season. Giving to a food bank in your community is a great way to give toys to children without worrying about overhead and you know 100 percent that it will be used in your community.
Bloggers Give is inviting others to participate in the 45 days of Christmas and to help entice you to participate there will be a giveaway. 100.00; in the form on one 50.00 gas card and one 50.00 pre-paid visa will be given to one person chosen randomly that participates in the 45 days of Christmas.
To Participate:
Visit Bloggers Give http://bloggersgive and either send a new unwrapped toy to
Bloggers Give
On Behalf of Your Blog
23106 35th Dr. SE
Bothell WA 98021
OR
Give the item to a charity near you.
Then go to http://bloggersgive.com/default-form and fill out the form. Choose from sponsor, blogger or both and you can upload your button. If you choose both you need to upload a logo for the sponsor. It would be very kind of you to upload a logo for the sponsor if you are a participating blogger. Please provide an image of the item you are donating and tell us your story of donating the item. You have to create a blog post for your entry to count in the giveaway.
Remember, every review and contest you run on your site is a chance for you to give. Always ask the companies you work with for one item for you and let them proudly know that you participate in Bloggers Give and want a 2nd item sent to us.
We will be working with two to three different charities next year so stay tuned.
About Bloggers Give
Bloggers Give is a charity blog encouraging review/giveaway bloggers to give back to their communities. For every item you receive just ask for one more item to be donated to charity. You can have it sent to Bloggers Give and we will pass it on to a deserving charity.

What makes beauty?!

12 Nov

What is beauty? Is it the hundreds of different lipstick shades, the millions of nail polish colors or what about that tedious job of finding the EXACT foundation so you don’t walk around looking like your face is peeling off and no one tells you …. I mean what it’s not like I’ve ever done it or anything, I’m just sayin … Oh right, yes what is beauty?

It’s not about who has her heels the highest, short the shortest, or top the tightest. It’s about attitude, confidence, and brains. Sure having a face that is as beautiful as mine doesn’t hurt but that’s not what it’s all about. You could spend MILLIONS on the latest shades of lipstick/nail polish, hours trying to perfect the art of liquid eyeliner without going blind in the process, again I would NEVER do anything like that I’m just sayin, and get your face shot up with so many different things that we can’t tell if you’re smiling, angry, or just stuck in a wind tunnel.

That’s not what beauty is about. Beauty is about being covered drool/spit up/food/God only KNOWS what and have your 4 year old look you straight in the face and say “Gosh Mommy you are so beautiful!” Granted he may want to cover his tracks for the 8 cookies he just downed, but at this point you take what compliments that come your way because at the end of the day, those little one(s) are what matter the most.

What is so wonderful about beauty is that isn’t not all about looks/brains/humor/or what not. It can be used to describe so many wonderful things in life. Like those beautiful rainbows you love to see, or when the doctor lays that brand new bundle of crying joy in your arms and you realize that you are head over heels in love with this perfect little body and your world just changed for the better.

Or it’s about the love you share with your significant other. I’m not talking about the hose you down in public moments, I’m talking about those moments when you can just be REAL with each other, and let me tell you there are times when I’m suddenly woken up by this sound as if an animal is dying and then there is that distant smell of morning breath. Oh and let’s not forget the distinct smell of body odor. I’m just amazed that this is the man that I fell for, and then reality hits me and I realize that is ME stankin up the bed ….but being the wonderful man he is, he’ll still reach over all that mess and give me a great big kiss … That’s love and it’s gotta have some beauty in there right? lol.

Plus if you can look in the mirror and not want to gouge your own eyeballs out, I’d call it a win win situation for everyone!

This entry is for the MomDot Bloggers and Tiaras contest. If you LOVE me … my posts, don’t forget to vote for me in the People’s Choice Awards

Family is Important

7 Nov

Family is something we take for granted. Make sure you hug them tight and let them know you love them. Being at my niece’s 5th birthday party made me have a self reflection moment =)

Press Release: See Kia Run celebrates 5 years

6 Nov
See Kai Run® Celebrates Five Years of Bringing the Perfect First Shoe to Consumers

Seattle, WA, November 2009 – This November See Kai Run marks its fifth year as the popular manufacturer of the perfect first shoe for new walkers with 1,200 doors in North America, availability in over 20 countries, to-date donation of nearly 34,000 pairs to children in need, and placement at #196 on the 2009 Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

“Building See Kai Run for the past 5 years has been such a thrilling and satisfying ride,” says founder Cause Haun. “We’ve come such a long way since my husband and I filled orders from our basement – but the core values of our company have not changed. We work hard to continue to provide the best customer service possible and make a product people believe in and get excited about. We want to thank all the parents and grandparents who choose See Kai Run footwear for the little ones in their lives.”

In 2004, husband and wife founders, Cause Haun and Chen Gang, first brought See Kai Run shoes to children’s boutiques, answering a call from parents like themselves for a comfortable, stylish first shoe for their kids. Inspired by their own 2-year old son, Kai, they created a shoe that was entirely different than what was offered at the time. It wasn’t long before the concept caught fire, generating buzz in the pre-Facebook world of mom blogs, bulletin boards, and by word of mouth. Even celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Ben Stiller, and Salma Hayek have become fans and chosen See Kai Run for their own children.

See Kai Run celebrates its fifth birthday all month long with special deals for both wholesale and retail customers. Visit www.seekairun.com for more details.

About See Kai Run

See Kai Run and Smaller promote healthy development of babies’ and children’s feet with their ultra-flexible soles, soft leather and wide toe box. Our footwear meets the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality and has been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance. Retail prices starts at $32.

See Kai Run is a family-owned and operated business located outside of Seattle, Washington. The idea was born when founder Cause Haun was on a quest for the perfect first pair of shoes for her son, Kai. Unable to find shoes in fun styles that still promoted the healthy development of little feet, Cause and her husband created their own line of shoes that satisfied all of these needs. In 5 years, See Kai Run has seen sales expand from a few boutiques, mostly in the Seattle area, to stores all around the country and worldwide. Please visit www.seekairun.com for additional information.

Great News!!

5 Nov

Well it looks like Creatively Yours is going to get a MAKEOVER and it’s in for the long haul. I’ve realized that the blog going along great and I love it, but the name is just not fitting into it anymore. So by the start of 2010, things should be ready to start that makeover. This includes a new NAME, my own hosting service, and just lots more room to do what I’d like. I think after the gift guide is done and I have caught up on all my reviews, I’ll be taking a holiday break on the reviews/giveaways and still share the random parts of my daily life that I love sharing.

I’m really excited for this journey and I can’t wait. I hope everyone will join in with me and I cna’t wait to see what happens from here!
